OpsLogic ServiceManager

Intelligent Operations Automation for Comprehensive Network Service Assurance

Auspice® OpsLogic® ServiceManager™ provides a real-time, proactive view of the entire multi-service infrastructure — giving cable providers the most comprehensive tools to handle the increasing complexity of end-to-end network service delivery. OpsLogic proactively tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and gives an accurate, real-time picture of how component outages affect voice, video and high-speed data service across multi-service networks.

This industry-leading product – proven at major MSOs – surpasses traditional management and monitoring systems by providing a complete service-level view of MSO network. ServiceManager accomplishes this by monitoring, integrating and correlating data and events — and by automating actions — across the entire service-delivery chain.

How Auspice OpsLogic ServiceManager Works

To find the true status of network performance and root cause analysis of problems and outages, ServiceManager monitors, filters and correlates data across the entire DOCSIS and PacketCable™ infrastructure in real time. These critical indicators are derived in real time directly from source components — CMs, MTAs, Call Management Servers (CMSs), HMS transponders, DOCSIS devices, Business Support Systems (BSS), etc.

Moreover, ServiceManager’s monitoring rates, filters and correlations can be configured to adhere to any service provider's unique procedures. For flexibility, ServiceManager also includes built-in extensions to third-party applications and systems, such as Cuss/softswitches, CMTSs, modems, MTAs and ticketing systems. For example, ServiceManager can determine if the root cause of a phone outage is due to a regional power outage or a failed transponder, an unplugged modem or MTA, a missing MTA battery, a misconfigured softswitch, or a DHCP server, CMTS or node outage. Also, ServiceManager can determine if call QoS degradation is due to HFC plant component and node health problems, out-of-spec signal-to-noise ratio on a modem, or a switch or router that is dropping packets. ServiceManager can even tell if an MTA's battery is low and needs replacing.
