AUSPICEÆ AND COMCAST SIGN MULTIYEAR AGREEMENT FOR ENTERPRISEWIDE DEPLOYMENT OF AUSPICE OPERATIONS AUTOMATION ACROSS ALL SERVICES
Expanded Relationship Enables Comcastís Enterprisewide Deployment of Auspiceís TLXÆ Platform and OpsLogicô Broadband Solution Suite for Automated Support of Full Range of Broadband Services
Framingham, MA ― November 8, 2004 ― Auspice Corporation announced that it has signed a multiyear licensing agreement with Comcast Cable Communications for their Auspice TLX and TLX-based OpsLogic software. The agreement enables Comcast to put Auspice's advanced operations automation software development tools and applications directly in the hands of its network operations, customer support and mobile field service staff across all of its markets.
The agreement provides Comcast with unlimited Auspice software capacity for solution development and deployment, supporting all broadband services for its customers. The Auspice TLX Real-Time Operations Automation Platform and TLX-based OpsLogic Broadband Solution Suite provide a solid automation foundation that helps Comcast reduce operations costs, increase service availability, network reliability and, ultimately, operational efficiency for profitable business growth.
Auspice has been working with Comcast for over four years providing the Auspice TLX Platform and OpsLogic Solution Suite to automate operations-support processes for multiservices. Auspice software helps Comcast's operations staff cost-effectively manage a network that supports millions of customers and thousands of miles of hybrid fiber coax (HFC) plants, while meeting the increasingly complex demands of supporting multiple services. Along the way, TLX software has proven its high scalability, flexibility and speed for meeting the operator's time-to-market needs and its ease of solution maintenance as the number of subscribers and geographic markets grow.
ìWe're continuing to work with Auspice to execute our vision of intelligent automation ― a paradigm shift to a more efficient way that cable operators can support their broadband services,î said Charlotte Field, Comcast Senior Vice President ― National Communications Engineering and Operations. ìOver the years with Auspice, we have created advanced operations automation to assure customer satisfaction for broadband services. Auspice's platform and products offer the functionality, timely implementation, extensibility and cost-effectiveness that we need to deploy advanced broadband multiservices.î

The agreement also provides momentum to Auspice as it sets out to build a technology partnership community among vendors. ìThe Comcast-Auspice relationship is based on working together to create the most advanced operations automation solutions possible for cable broadband services,î said Steven Birer, Auspice President and CEO. ìOur ongoing collaboration to deploy innovative solutions and Comcast's new license for the broader use of our products are clear examples of this partnership's success. Our expanded relationship underscores Auspice's long-term commitment to Comcast and the entire MSO industry to assist them in their quest for business growth based on the highest level of broadband service assurance.î
