Innovative Software Firm Set to Gain Momentum in Cable Broadband Services and Other Industries
Framingham, MA - July 17, 2003 - Auspice Corporation, The Enterprise Control™ Company, today announced that Steven S. Birer has joined the company as President. Birer, an investment banking and financial services veteran, will head the privately-held real-time systems integration and operations automation software firm from its Framingham, MA headquarters. He has also joined the six-year-old company's board of directors and will report to Andrew W. Gordon, Auspice's Founder, Chairman and CEO.

Recently running his own consulting business, Birer's experience includes managing research practices at Wall Street's fastest-growing investment banks. As managing director of Robertson Stephens' Information Technology Group, he was instrumental in building a $50 million practice and was recognized by Institutional Investor and Reuters as one of the top technology analysts in America. Prior to that, Birer was one of the founding members of Hambrecht & Quist's Internet Practice - one of the earliest on Wall Street. Overall, he has been involved in more than 60 initial public offerings, secondary offerings and private company transactions. Earlier, Birer held various loan officer, policy analysis and senior auditor positions at Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. and KPMG Peat Marwick (formerly Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co.).
Birer has a B.S. in Business Administration (with emphasis on finance and accounting) from the University of California, Berkeley and is a certified CPA.
