AUSPICE® DEMONSTRATES INDUSTRY-LEADING, REAL-TIME, AUTOMATED FIELD SERVICE OPERATIONS SOLUTIONS FOR SERVICE PROVIDERS

Auspice TLX® improves service quality, field operations efficiency and MTTR by extending the right information to the right people at the right time through wireless handheld computers

Chicago, IL - June 9, 2003 - Leading the Multi-Service Operator (MSO) industry's vision of real-time, automated end-to-end service operations management, Auspice® Corporation today demonstrated how the Auspice TLX platform can extend enterprise network information and real-time customer service histories and configurations to field operations staff with unprecedented ease, manageability and efficiency.

Auspice, The Enterprise Control™ Company, provided attendees at the National Cable & Telecommunications Associations' The National Show with a first look at how Auspice TLX can provide field service operations staff with a real-time interactive tool for checking status of network devices, managing outage recovery and field dispatch optimization based on information previously available only to NOC (network operations center) staff. The interactive, wireless capability puts the right intelligence in the hands of the field operations staff.

Auspice TLX is the industry's only platform that integrates operations across business and network systems, enabling the real-time correlation and automation of operational processes of a service network. The company demonstrated how the TLX platform extends Auspice's OpsLogic™ Broadband Solution Suite, custom TLX-based applications and third-party applications from operations center servers to field service personnel equipped with wireless handheld computers.

Auspice TLX-based operations center solutions - TLX's extended capability for wireless handhelds - offer quantifiable ROI, such as:

  • Improved customer service;

  • Faster Mean-Time-To-Repair;

  • Greater service reliability;

  • Fewer truck rolls.

Boosts Field Service Operations Productivity and Efficiency

TLX's extension of real-time network device status, customer account information and interactive tools to field service organizations empowers them to solve customers' problems more quickly and to proactively take action to prevent service network and customer premise equipment failure.

For example, the company demonstrated today how the Auspice TLX platform can extend Auspice OpsLogic solutions - such as the OpsLogic Service Visibility Portal and Cable Modem Exception Monitoring (CMEx) - via wireless handhelds to:

  • Enable a field service technician to directly identify typical HFC plant problems, such as node or partial-node outages, amplifier failures or noise ingress - without having to call NOC staff for trouble-shooting assistance;

  • Enable a field service technician to directly access customer billing and provisioning information to look for common inconsistencies that prevent proper cable modem installation - and to "ping" the customer's modem - without tying up customer service and NOC staff with request for information and modem testing actions;

  • Enable a field service technician to review historical modem performance data to determine if a customer's modem is operating out of bounds and tune the modem to prevent impending failure - using information typically available only to NOC staff;

  • Enable a field service technician to access street addresses of customers with problems to ascertain the location of a node or partial node outage, even if a comprehensive map of node locations is not available - without having to call customer service to get a list of affected customers;

  • Enable a field service technician to close trouble tickets directly, eliminating paperwork and the common transcription errors associated with it.

"At The National Show, we have once again demonstrated the power of Auspice TLX to correlate and deliver information and automated processes across business and network systems, delivering substantial ROI to the cable industry," said Rick Berthold, Auspice Executive Vice President and CTO. "We continue to innovate based on our experience deploying solutions at MSOs nationwide and by anticipating our customers' future needs."

About Auspice

Founded in 1997, Auspice, The Enterprise Control Company, is the first commercial developer of an enterprise control software platform that enables the extended enterprise to manage disparate technology infrastructure in an orchestrated manner to dramatically improve ROI. With its roots in the modern-day manned space program, Auspice's TLX platform was originally developed for mission-critical and complex operational environments, such as the International Space Station (for NASA), which are characterized by heterogeneous systems that demand absolute reliability. Auspice is also the developer of the TLX-based OpsLogic Broadband Solution Suite - a set of integrated operations automation applications for broadband service providers. OpsLogic was developed on and can be extended with the Auspice TLX platform to meet the specific needs of individual service providers. Auspice TLX and Auspice OpsLogic applications are currently deployed at leading North American MSOs. Visit www.auspicecorp.com
